All the airlines are switching now to twin operations and ETOPS 330.

I am as you all know very against twin jets on long routes over water and the poles.

It is very dangerous and it is all about saving fuel and more profits.

If just one fully loaded wide body goes down, the chances of losing all aboard are possible. The crash will effect well over 1200 family members and the possible law suits will put the offending airline out of business.

The Public out cry will be tremendous and profits over safety will be in the news big time.

No one cares about this right now. I believe many of the flying public do not even give it a thought!o_O

Of the 15,500 flights in the air right now, only 450 are 4 engined.

The DOT has reported that the FAA is not doing enough to prevent Unauthorized Parts from being installed in our transport aircraft. Add in the fact the all overseas International Field Offices IFO's have been closed by former FAA Administrator Huerta. The risk for serious problems with bogus parts and the lack of surveillance on Maintenance Reapir and Overhaul MRO stations is staggering..

Still no information on what FAA is doing to prevent bogus parts from being installed in air carrier aircraft. Initially it was estimated (estimated!) that 10% of all parts replaced during heavy aircraft maintnenance at Maintnenance Repair and Overhaul facilites MRO's are bogus parts with false paper work. Ironically that number has not changed according to the FAA. However one has ask, How does FAA known anything since FAA has close down all foreign Field Offices. There are literally no inspections of these facilities being done!

The door is open for more and more bogus parts to be installed in aircraft. Ad this situations to twin jet long distance flights over the Pacific and the Poles and we have a nice recipe for disaster!!

We'll see how the "regulator'' handles the Reauthorization. I'm sure they will slow walk some of the "safety" things until they get caught. By then, the "empire building" management will have gotten their high 3 and retire with full benefits!!! SAD!!!

Wouldn't it be ironic if a twin goes down, it would be a Chinese airlines plane with Chinese made bogus parts as the cause?

This tread will hit over 200,000 hits in a few weeks. People are looking at it all over the world. Most flyers don't give a second thought whether the aircraft is a twin jet or a 4 engine aircraft. Now with 10's of thousand more flights using twin Jets the risk factor is increasing in the event of an engine failure.

So what is ahead ........Time will tell as we go into another dangerous winter flying seasono_O

Proof is in the pudding when the POTUS and the president of Russia(Putin) fly on 4 engines internationally.

Exactly. If two engines were that safe, the new Air Force One would be a 787.
