Not really. It's probably the newest commercial jet the Russians have come out with.

Yes it was! Although it's a sharp looking plane, IT'S LOUD as f**K, which goes against most noise complaint/abatement rules around. It's engines look and sound like the first generation B-737s when they first came out a half century ago. Sounds to me like the EU un-elected bureaucrats ordered them to appease the enemy, similar to that idiot Merkel signing a NG agreement with Russia but asking the US to protect them from the Russians, as President Trump threw back in the EU's faces like DOOEY? The newly acquired by Airbus A-220s (CS-100/300s) are far superior in so many ways. What are they going to the ones they have?

They may be new, but the technology is not like the Boeing 737 Max with the high by pass turbo fan engines. The MAx is quite and fuel efficient..

The airline had an order for new SSJ's. The order was primarily based on price. One of my buds was through training and waiting to start flying but there were problems with the program. The airline canceled the program which means the problems were considered insurmountable.

The biggest problem was a lack of available spare parts, resulting in many cancellations and delayed flights...
