image.jpg I have just returned from a trip to Las Vegas which I will write an article about soon but this is about the joke that is TSA Pre check.
We checked in with Delta at Man (UK) and received our 4 boarding passes, 2 to JFK and another 2 on to Vegas.
On our arrival at JFK we changed terminals and proceeded to security. It was only then I noticed my wife's boarding pass had TSA pre on it. I new she shouldn't have had this but said nothing to her and sent her, with her British passport, down the TSA Pre check line. The TSA agents duly checked her passport, boarding pass and waved her through. I did not say anything as we had a flight to catch and as it was my wife I knew she was ok, but I was shocked at this obvious mistake. As you can see below the criteria for TSA pre is to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, of which we are neither.

An applicant must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) and cannot have been convicted of certain crimes. If an applicant has a record of any of the crimes identified in the eligibility requirements [2], they may choose not to apply, as the application fee is nonrefundable.

Interested applicants must visit an application center to provide biographic information that includes name, date of birth and address. An applicant will be fingerprinted and will be required to provide valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation [3]. An applicant also has the option to pre-enroll online to provide basic information and make an appointment before visiting an application center. There is a nonrefundable application processing fee of $85.

We have never applied for this.
In my opinion this one instance makes a complete ass of the pre check system, how many more times is this happening and going unnoticed.

Look, we all know this, but it is an open secret that if you fail in an job, you are just the right person to become a TSA officer. If you really f*cked up big time in your life, just avoided going to jail, you even might become a "supervisor'. But if you accidentally on purpose killed your mother in law......well the sky is the limit, right ?

My wife worked under contract for a company that was performing medical screenings on the first batch of TSA applicants. Not the sharpest knives in the drawer, from what she said.
