So a lone inspector found a corroded pitot tube and now the whole operation employing 4500 people is in trouble?

Someone has to look into this. It smells of of an inspector harassment. It effects such a large operator that has been there for years doing an important service for the public.......? Strange

The regulator has been rudderless for a long time. They let Allegiant off with adminstrative action and go after Air Methods for a million dollars. If there was a retired FAA senior manager on Air Methods staff, they may have gotten off with a warning too.

So true Russ. Now the MCAS disaster has exposed the whole FAA swamp. I see big changes in the agency in the future

Now this incident with a lone inspector is adding to it all!!!

We'll see what the cert looks like. The new time is by Christmas. They've been working overtime to get things done to keep the timeline.

We'll see if sim time will be required anywhere in the world. Several simulators are coming online. I wonder if that is a hint??

Exactly, however I have seen inspectors do really dumb things that cost operators a lot of money.

It could be justified, but I could find something wrong with any aircraft I look at. Is it dangerous? maybe not.

Unfortunately some inspectors do not have a lot of field experience and make mistakes. The agency would never admit to a mistake and it been that way forever!
