Flight had just taken off from Springfield-Branson National Airport on the way to Orlando.

Allegiant jet took off from SGF, but returned after engine failure

"We took off. We heard a bang, and the plane dropped a little bit," said passenger Jeff Birdsong, "and then i thought it was turbulence, honestly."

I hate the loud bangs from turbulence.

.... the "fake" aviation administration will get to the bottom of it all. They'll use the compliance philosophy and give Allegaint a letter of correction since no one was hurt.

Not just Allegiant (although theirs are more frequent). Yesterday at Denver:

    Happened right after landing.

Maybe Nicky boy called Michael man or Johnny boy and had a chat about compliance philosophy. All bets are off when the "big one" happens.

To me, what's more outlandish is, the amount of retired management that go into the consulting and lobbyist business. The "biggly one" is right about having a lifetime ban on these "swamp" people. "Drain the Swamp"!!

.....................yes it is common for a manager to get a company a 200 million dollar NEXTGEN contract and then retire and get a vice-president's job with the same company.....with a nice corner office for a few years......"THE REVOLVING DOOR".....criminal!!

It rings a little hollow when he fills his cabinet with them.

Political appointee vs career employees. Career employees going from overseeing entities, retire, then working for those entities. Airlines have former agency officials in their pocket who then try to influence their former agency. Compliance philosophy is an example of influence on the agency. We'll see what happens when the "big" one happens. I'm sure the poor field inspectors will get hung out to dry.

Takes a good ex thief to catch a current one you mean? Does the US government send super computer hackers to prison when convicted? NO! The US government hires them to thwart the others! Fact! This is a time tested practice not new to the Trump administration. We even had 8 yrs of a criminal in the highest office and he is useless for anything good even after. ;)

No honor among thieves, either. Thus, the revolving door when the associate adminstator for safety comes back after four years in industry. He even has a questionable past. The field will continue to suffer under the political pressure to look the other way regarding safety.

We'll see what happens with deputy adminstator returning to the agency. I guess the "biggly one" wanted a pilot. Only five more months until number two can become number one.

......FAA is starting to drain....We have a new DOT Secretary and now a new Deputy. It takes time, unfortunately, to dig the cockroaches out of the wood work!!!
