Too much bad news in such a short time. My heart goes out to both the Flight Instructor and the Student's family. And the student so young too. Tragic.

Yes, a lot happening at once. Then there was the small plane crash in Winter Haven, Florida where the instructor was killed and the student survived.

This crash involved a Republic Twin-Bee. It was modified from a Sea-Bee into a twin engine plane. I remember back in my high school days, working a safety detail at the airport as Flying Magazine did a flight report on a Twin-Bee. Based on my conversation with the owner of the plane, I wouldn't be using it for multi-engine instruction.

It appears the aircraft suddenly pitched down and crashed?

It's happened a few years back with another Seaplane, can't remember the brand, but a turbo prop I believe, a control cable snapped, ploop!
