It is a big win for LSA pilots, however aircraft approaching 3600 pounds are much more complicated to fly them a 1320 pound light sport aircraft.

It should be understood that LSA pilots do not have to be trained to use navigation equipment, operate a radio or fly at night.

I believe additional training will need to be given LSA pilot applicants.

Thousands of licenses!! No testing required!! Just pay the administrative fee!!
The FAA will sit back and collect money like the DMV.
Administrative fees because the government is not allowed to tax people's rights.
Except that Congress erased the language a few years ago about flying being a right from the FAA Act 0f 1957 and no one bitched.
Bottom line- Russ is right- GA accident rate won't improve.

I am not sure what will come out on the weight change. Going to 3600 pound MGTOW is a lot and covers many aircraft. I could see a lot of additional training for LSA pilots if they want to fly the heavier aircraft ...

All comes with a 150 mph speed limit. This all sounds like a back door effort to incorporate LSAs with GA and eventually slap/swallow them up with the same rules/regs or water down GA. I smell a rat somewhere here. If it sounds too good to be true, someone's fulla sh!t.

Someone made a mistake and said this and the media picked it up. It could happen but possibly with lower weights.

I'd be very satisfied if our Piper and Cessna aircraft can be used........
