    Throttle stuck open...
Throttle stuck at idle is worse. Happened to friend in an AA-1 (not a good glider) at night in a residential area.
He missed the power lines, but a pick-up truck ran a red light and the plane snapped a landing gear through the truck's roof.
That changed the plane's direction and the other 2 gear snapped off on the median curb. No one was hurt but that little plane was tore up.
I lived down the street, so the flight school called me to handle critical incident response (something I've become skilled at, unfortunately).

Wow! It was breathtaking to watch this event. This sure was a good combination of a clear thinking pilot, excellent ATC assistance, and everyone else working together. A wonderful ending that’s for sure. :)
