I used to sell cars between my transition from Hertz RAC to NW and back to Hertz RAC and upon Italian-American customers picking up their new cars they would throw coins into the back seat. They told me this was an Italian tradition for good luck. Didn't know this worked on jet engines as well for the Chinese. At least nobody ended up in a Chinese jail. They should post signs telling passengers not to do this!

Missed that in the article. That's a problem I wonder how serious an offense this is considered probably at what we have it would be at the Federal Level. So this guy might be sitting there until trial because my feeling is the Chinese don't have a reasonable bail system but I'm not familiar with their legal system. If so yeah the guy did something stupid not realizing what damage that can cause once the engine is started but it was not a intentional act to damage the aircraft. I have absolutely no trust in China so I hope they will be reasonable with him or will they make him an "Example"?

No lawyers needed! If the aggrieved (rich people) aren't interested, he pays a 'fine' directly to the local police, and there's nothing of record. If he has upset the elites, he spends a long time waiting for trial. If the defendant has impugned the Party, by protesting or drug-running, the trial is swift and short, and life is over. The legal system there is a bit different from what you know.
