Newark Airport shutdown

    The anti skid system could have malfunctioned. The pilot applies brakes and the system prevents the brakes form locking up. If the system malfunctions it will blow some tires. If it is inop there should be an indication on the annunciation panel in front of the pilot. The system could fail and tires will blow big time if the pilot brakes too hard.

    Here is a typical annunciation panel and the ANT-SKID is over on the left side. If lite it tell the pilot the system is not working

    Yep it was a mess.......the airport was shut down for over 4 hours and that caused a mess in the metro area!!

    The main thing was no one hurt.
