From my experience the National Transportation Safety Board NTSB and the Merit System Protection Board MSPB routinely 97% of the time rubber stamp FAA enforcement actions.

    END OF STORY!

...well, it's sure making the lobbiest and advisors nervous since the "regulator" said they were going to use "compliance philosophy" for their enforcements. They've always had "adminstrative action" for the "compliance". Now they have a new "buzzword".

Now, if the book says not to remove a bearing, you would think that the compliance would be not to remove the bearing. Tracibility is supposed to keep the bogus parts from coming from into the inventory. By not having the paperwork filled out correctly, makes the part questionable. Are people trying to count on not getting caught, or is making a buck more important??

...I find it ironic, even though unrelated, that one of the bearings worked on was to the 737 engines. If we have unreliable bearings, do we have unreliable blades too??

...since the DOT OIG appears to be the only one that gets results, maybe they could save money by eliminating the safety inspector from doing enforcements. It would be an easy 10 percent reduction and save money too!!

...I wonder if all the retired "regulators" on the "operators" payroll are ensuring that they aren't using bogus parts?? I can almost bet not, since it would effect their "bottom line"

It appears the acting administrator for the FAA feels it is not a problem. So that is it right?

When the right people get killed in a related air crash because of SUPS......then maybe something will be done........maybe!

Funny thing about "actors", they don't upset the apple cart out of fear of being replaced. It all starts at the top. The "actor" comes from a "lobbiest", so you can imagine where his interest lay.

Unfortunately, you are right, the "bogus" parts will only come to light when the "right type" of people are killed! The rest of us are expendable!!

...I sure hope that the "actor" isn't the "biggly one's" "great pilot"?!!

Recently fan blade failure caused the death of a passenger. No one knows why it happened. However there bogus fan blades were discovered with fake paper work indicating they were airworthy when they were not! How many more are there out there? No one including the FAA knows because the SUP parts are increasing and nothing is being done to stop it.

..the engine damage looked almost the same as the one in 2016 that involed metal fatigue with a blade. After 2 years, the "regulator" never took action until a fatal accident happened!! They had that emergency order out the door fast because they looked stupid for not acting on the 2016 one in time.

It's time for the "regulator" to answer congress for their their lack of ensuring safety to the highest level possible!!

I agree but there has to be more accidents. A crash killing all aboard will bring them all down. It will happen as all layers of safety are gone and the accidents will start to happen.

Watch for the sudden retirements and shuffling of minions and managers.

One thing though, President Trump will do something soon!

...heaven forbid the "regulator" be proactive and quit being "data driven" to do their oversight. I bet if their pay was tied to the number of inspections they do, we should have no problems with finding errors! Now, if they would stand strong and write the enforcements and not give "get out of jail free" cards, maybe the operators would get the hint!!

I think it's too late. There are literally no overseas inspections. As we said Bogus parts are serious and increasing. The FAA is literally running on luck !

... agreed. Unfortunately, the Act of 2012 has done it's damage along with the "empire building" of management and their minions!! Management has doubled in size while the "worker bees" have decreased! The "worker bees" are so fed up, that they are quitting and.going elsewhere!

The "biggly one" should sign an executive order saying that they can't make one a manager unless two of them retire!
