Haven't posted in 2 years but now almost all the threads I see are from 2019! Richard has a thread about the 737 Max that looks pretty current but is he mostly alone in here?

Just wondering as I'd like to get active again here......

This site was down for most of this year. It just recently came back online. I haven’t found out yet why it was down, but it’s sure good to have it back again! I put up a post about “Boeing to delay 777X because demand is dropping for big jets”. Rich has put up a couple posts, other than that it’s been kinda quiet.
Gary, good to have you back!

    It suddenly came back?

As I said I thought the Government pulled the plug on it because there was a small war going on between me and a few FAA Inspectors that caused problems in the industry! Of Course that is my opinion.

I know a lot about the FAA and the procedures they follow and how problems in aviation are not reported for one reason or another!

So as time goes on lets help the aviation industry recovers from the world pandemic!

Even if there are only a few of us here for now, we still have stuff to talk about!

I got super busy two years ago and when I later popped in, it looked dead. But I tracked it all down the other day and found it still here! Barely!

    Will post more soon.......

I am still working in the industry. Flight training and aircraft maintnenance and helping new pilots buy aircraft.

I find it interesting that politics is alive and well and this election is crazy.

Imagine a political party wants to get rid of aircraft, cars and boats that burn fossil fuel?

If we get rid of fossil fuels, the entire economy will collapse! No trucks, no planes, no FedEx, no UAL, AA, SWA, DAL, no cars, ho heating oil, no natural gas. Really?????

That’s right, and the goofy proponents of that have no idea what will happen to the economy. Fossil fuels are the lifeblood of a strong economy.

I remember sitting in line at 5am in 1973 to get my 5 gallons of gas thanks to OPEC!

Being in a position of NOT being influenced by problems in other parts of the world, is a really good position.

I'll catch up with you guys later. I was asked to go back to work for a short time, then Covid 19 screwed everything up and for the last week I've been trying to move anything combustible from around my house as a collection of wild fires started after a lightning storm hit the San Francisco Bay area on Sunday 16.

I think the danger is pretty much over now, the nearest fire, while still burning has been stopped about 5 miles to the south. We are still under a mandatory evacuation order, but when Calfire stated they didn't have the resources to fight all the fires, quite a number of residents decided to stay put and defend our homes. Trouble is, if we leave the evacuation area, the Sheriffs won't let us back in! Now we're running low on groceries. Is anyone close enough to arrange an air drop?

Just to keep on an aviation theme we have seen quite a few helicopters doing water drops and on the largest fires a few miles inland, the DC10 and B747 super tankers have been busy dropping huge loads of fire retardant. Check internet for videos. See y'all later.

Hey Biggles be careful. Read about those wild fires. Is your governor doing anything to help?

I think our Governor (wannabe President one day) declared a state of emergency because of the fires, but other than that he is just being confused over what to do about covid 19. Half the state thought it was over and gave up on precautions, thus starting a second wave and now most of the restrictions are back in force.

Hiya Gary, Yeah I remember when Nixon changed us all over to the Petro dollar from gold backed in 1971 and all of a sudden Opec held us all hostage as our reward.
