    More people gonna die.
It's an over-grown drone, and drones crash.
If an outboard motor fails, can it still maneuver?
In a hard landing, those lateral booms will fold upwards and put slicing propellers over the passenger's head- only 1 way out of the cabin- into the props.
A Li-Po battery equipped electric plane caught fire yesterday in eastern Europe- drones have the same potential.

I like the concept enough to consider doing one myself. However, the designs I see being promoted leave a lot to be desired, especially in crash-worthiness, ironic since the developers have the money to do it properly.

... would think that some sort of recovery chute system being mandatory. Can't see any other way to recover after a motor failure.

There has to be some major rule changes for something like this to be operated here in the US. Right now companies would have to ask for exemptions to the rules. The "regulator'' doesn't move that quickly for a rule change.

Technology is moving right along. There are places around the world that have things like this and embraced by the countries.

All it takes is a few crashes to change the attitude about these things, just like the driverless cars. Time will tell.

Large pilotless drones need another 100 years for technology to catch up with them!

The public is watching too many Star War Movies........but kill enough of the public and they will go back to delivering Pizza

The beauty of it, if you are FAA, is that these man-carrying drones are unregulated ultralights!
"Not my problem!" And I agree because I prefer less government intrusion.
However, after a few LAW SUITS against the builders with deep pockets, this amateur crap will stop being marketed.

Just wait until we have single pilot or pilotless airliners!! In the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018.

SEC. 744. SINGLE-PILOTED COMMERCIAL CARGO AIR-
    17 CRAFT.
