While many of you are freezing your butts off in the snow, I'm enjoying Sunday morning in the tropics flying my Corsair. Don't be jealous!

Btw- this is the first time it has landed in one piece.

Lol, Cool! Sounds like ya got machine guns on it too. :D RC flyin ain't as easy as most think. There is a designated RC flyin club area in the park nearby here. Most of those guys are real good too. Love to sit there and watch em when I got some spare time. I toyed with one once but it didn't have ailerons. (generic Cessna type) Had to hand launch it too. Crashed the bastid on the 6th flight. :( I only payed $20.00 for it anyways, from a guy down on his luck. Sold the engine, servos and controller for $30.00. What was left was trashed. Walked away brushin my hands off sayin "NEXT!" :)

Haha! that was hilarious. Most people would be way too impatient to do four go-arounds:) That first time it was coming down I was ready for a crash, but that SWOOP... I've trashed a bunch of rc helicopters, since they are way cheaper to buy. You can buy small ones here for about $10, and they are real fun to fly around the living room, landing on top of shelves or diving at and freaking out cats!

I used to have a little foam X-twin plane, but it didn't have any control surfaces: just two props. Since it was such a durable model, I actually had it for three years:) I kept flying it into trees and chopping off the tail, but hot and super glue saved it many times. Because it had such sensitive thrust though, a graph of my flight profile would have looked at y=sinx. Hehe. Somewhat similar to the DC-10 without hydraulics, just with a lot less control... Bouncing up and down in either a dive or a steep climb, but never in level flight. Fun times.

Nice! I go out flying RC's with a friend of mine whenever we get the chance. L.L. is right, its not easy, but it sure is fun! Both of us built our own planes out of foam, and like Shawn says, hot and super glue keeps em going. :)

Here is a picture of the ones we built. Mine on the right, and the other two on the left belong to two good friends of mine. Maybe you can see that the tail and tail-wheel on mine got tweaked a little from a rough landing.

Only the left wing has folded, twice. :) It has been a very effective educational tool for learning about the deeper aspects of RC airplane design.
Here's a pic of my next foamie-

If you know what type it is, then I've already succeeded. I scratch-built the airframe for about $11. It's ready for ground testing to insure that the 16 amp power limit is not exceeded while producing appropriate thrust for good performance. Notice that it does NOT have landing gear. Under the cloth is the 3D printer.

Looks like a Tiger Shark with an F-35 front end.

Close enough!! It's a T-38 Talon. During a ground test, the nose had a run in with the wall, and the wall won. Not going to fix it because it will crash again.

Those walls are so destructive to RC plane noses. I guess we will have to establish a ban on walls! :D

Yes, it is. The tower frequency is H2O!! It does have a cooling effect on any overheating issues! :D

When it sprays foam, will it gradually disappear? ;)
