However, unmanned drones have more regs under the new FAA Authorization Bill....
I wonder which one will kill more people?

Say CHEEZE! Actually, it only takes one idiot who hasn't practiced enough and or hasn't read the owners manual to muck up the works. This world is NOT full of geniuses.

It's like from the early days of aviation. As soon as people were being killed the government stepped in and started to regulate it!

No pilot certificates were required back then until the crashes began!

History is just repeating itself ;)

...and back then too, the "regulator" was incompetent!!

They should have drained the swamp back then too!!

I was always concerned that drones would be the terrorists best weapon to continue their dirty deeds......

    Terrorists? no... Assassins? yes...
Drones don't have enough payload. Truck bombs will still be favored by terrorists.
That said, is the threat substantial enough to outlaw drones as the new re-authorization bill essentially does?
That's akin to outlawing guns because of 1 mass shooter.

Behold the future? Is this why 100s of brainiacs refused to work/quit working for Google just recently?

Some what true, but drones available to the public could weigh as much as 55 pounds. Fill that baby with c-4!

Hmm... Slaughter Bots killing 11 Senators... Who would I put on my list?:)
Seems I mentioned this a couple of years ago along with anti-personnel lasers when there was a gun debate here.
    Guns are becoming antiquated.
The professor is correct. The technology is here and now.
DARPA is actively experimenting with integrating the different technologies.
The FAA's outlawing hobbyist drones will not change anything.
It may come about that the hobbyists are called upon to resist a rogue military.
Maybe the FAA should promote the hobby industry, not kill it.

Most people don't understand that there's technology being kept under wraps for the sake of the global economy's status quo, EG(no pun intended): Medical cures, energy, armaments/weaponry, etc. breakthroughs, and then there's Aliens and their technology. These elitist pr**ks and c**ts(no gender implied) that have been in power for too long are about to meet their come-upance and in spades. Just a prediction. ;)
