The entire interior came from western suppliers.

He mentions the low cruising level. Welcome to China, Land of Under-achievers!
Hands-down the worst in ATC efficiency anywhere in the world. Even in western China near Chengdu where traffic is not dense, ATC won't let anyone climb to an efficient cruise level. Please maintain Right Offset 3, 6, 10, 15 miles so your tag doesn't drop off the radar scope from opposite direction traffic. Want to change altitudes because of turbulence? Please Stand-by! A long time. You are 500 miles from destination? Please begin descent to FL240.... Turbulence at FL240? Suck it up.....

I guess in China it's not all about your "Comfort and Safety" as they used to say in the cabin announcements in the 70's and 80's Damn that thing looks like a DC-9 or Boeing 717 down to the 5 across cabin width. Anybody check the old archives at Boeing for some missing design drawings?

I always said there is no quality control is China. No one cares. The managers and workers all make the same. There is no incentive for anything.

With a population of 1.5 BILLION people it is difficult to accomplish anything.

The bottom line is no one cares!

The select few live at the top of the food chain and everyone else is expendable.

Maybe when all things are said and done, her 'rich' assets will be confiscated or forfeited. ;)

Managers do get paid more than subordinates, and quality control ranges from non-existent to good depending on the oversight, but the rest of your post- lack of initiative, no incentive, select few vs expendables- is much the same around the world, even in the US.

BTW the Chinese government own all aircraft manufacturing. The Government owns all the airlines. Their certification is controlled by the government. So the Chinese government built their first airliner, ordered their airlines to buy 3 or 4 hundred and aircraft certification was approved by their government agency.....Pretty neat right?

No one has any say but the government. That is why no one cares. They are told what to do. If the pilots think the aircraft is a death trap, they better shut up. If any crashes no one will know why....The public can not sue and fly at their own risk!.......simple!

For the most part, you are correct. However, there are numerous airlines in China, and many are owned by private corporations.

I did not know that their were privately owned airlines in China?
I am surprised the Chinese Government would let any company fly around the country without their approval and control?.

China is still a communist dictatorship where people are executed for disagreeing with the government!
