Just trying to keep up with the rest of the manufacturers in the arena. We'll see what the final price per copy, if they can still compete in this arena.

What will be even more concerning is, can the FAA keep up with oversight and rules for this new technology. The companies aren't going to wait for years to get certification or rules in place to operate. There will be extreme pressure to get rules in place. I'd hate to be in standards or rulemaking management having to answer the President for not being ready.

2020 isn't that far away. Winning the hearts and minds of the public operating these in congested areas is going to be a hard sell. All it will take is one of these machines "coming down" in Times Square and killing people on the ground.

With the current rules and standards, I can't see these getting off the ground any time soon. Just my two cents.

...they tried to get a civilian tilt rotor off the ground years ago. Haven't heard anything new on that front.

I would love to see the engine failure with 50% loss of power testing on this Uber vehicle. Not enough money in the world for me to volunteer as a test dummy.

I think they should perfect the hoverboard first. That way everybody can have one, practice at home, and hopefully the inevitable mid-airs won't all be fatal!!;):p

The bad part of a hoverboard is they need turbojet power over water. I'm sure Rich would say they need 4 power plant instead of 2 while over water too!! Snark!!!
