The day I got my Multi-engine Rating (in a terribly UNder powered 1955 Piper Apache!!), my instructor told me:

"Congratulations! You now have twice the chance of an engine failure!"

Little did I know then, that a few years later I would learn what a P&W JT8D engine on a 737-200 sounds like when it explodes at T/O power!!

    BANG!!

In my neck of the woods I had a valve get stuck on the 150 I was flying!

Fortunately it happened after we landed and we took off and replaced the cylinder .

Engine failures are not too common but they seems to be happening more and more?

Haven't worn a mask yet. I know, I'm the rebel that refuses to be controlled.

    Evryting kool, mon...
Everyone wears a mask here, even before the pandemic. Most people also ride motorbikes, even the gals.
The mask keeps the sun off the face, an important consideration when dark skin is associated with peasants.
Masks also keep one from inhaling road dusk such as when stuck behind a large truck.
A big difference that keeps people wearing masks here is the national pride taken in beating the virus, largely lacking in the US....
This place was full of Chinese in January but no deaths until last month, because some illegal Chinese brought it with them.

    Hiya EG!

Yep, here in the Colonies, it's mostly the young people that will NOT wear masks! How, do I know they are young? Because I can see their faces!

In Toronto years before the Dempanic, it's easy to spot a Chinese from way off as they were always the only ones to wear masks on a regular basis. I dunno, maybe they thought the natives smelled or somethin.
