Some of the things that I miss about flying. Damn corrupt empire building management.

....The electronics are great, it is a amazing how the I-pad has been integrated into flying. One things they still can't modernize is that this aircraft has no water closet!!.....maybe someone will invent a convent flying diaper to fix the problem;).....

Btw this is the most professional example of a well done video in an aircraft. It is very clear and the sound is perfect. This fellow has some others posted........

Well, he"s lucky that the "FAKE" Aviation Administration has the "compliance philosophy". I'm sure there may be some potential violations. They won't be discovered until the smoking crater happens. At least the accident investigation will have video to help determine probable cause.

What's been happening to a lot of internet video pilots is that someone calls the FAA hotline and reports potential violations. This video doesn't show the checklist being done. That doesn't mean it wasn't done, nor was it even required, but because someone called the hotline, the FAA has do a bunch of paperwork to discredit the claim. In turn, the internet pilots have to provide paperwork to the FAA to disprove the claims. I remember a former troll in this group who would be a likely culprit, and he is far from being alone. It sucks for everyone, even the FAA.

...this also demonstrates why the pilot unions don't want video on the flight deck. A technical violation doesn't always mean a violation of safety. We all have seen an adverse reaction to a technical violation.

.....I understand that there are sad people out there that complain and call the FAA. Just so they know, in order for the FAA to investigate they have to give their contact information. If in the future some one wants to sue these sickos, their information will be released by a Freedom of Information Act request by an attorney. Then they can be sued. All it takes is money......the poor bastards have nothing else to do in life but cause problems.

Social media has changed everything. The NTSB and the FAA are so far behind any kind of a investigation it is actually funny!

One day I could see a new organization that will use this technology to quickly find the probable cause to an accident and save lives by doing so!

Times are a changing.....and to those ALPHA HOTELS that like to cause problems.....watch out you will be exposed!

... it's sad that they will go after the minor technical infractions and those who can't afford a lawyer. I was injured and disabled by a careless act and all that became of it was the PIC was given a 709 by a fellow employee.

I can't tell you how many calls I've gotten over the years about who's done what. Your right, Rich, the complaint has to have a witness to testify about the violation. Video is a double edge sword. Great for memorializing a flight. Tough for using it as evidence. This example is pretty benign. I know we all have seen the "hold my beer and watch this" video.

    Worth looking at.................

Thanks, Rich. I'm sure he's very experienced with the aircraft and the equipment. All to often we see pilots who are rusty with TAA aircraft and hear of the tragic results. I wish that more FTD equipment was available and used to keep proficient. The NTSB report about TAA being safer than legacy aircraft is interesting.

More and more we are seeing in car cameras. They are used for many reasons. Safety, security and accident witness to name a few. We could learn from the automobile industry with many of the safety improvements.

I wished there were cameras in the helicopter that left me injured and disabled. There are details I still don't remember. I can't imagine that a professionally approved and installed camera system would cost much and add much weight to the aircraft.

......The airlines never liked the CVR. Then it was extended to two hours of a flight. It sometimes would help the NTSB determine a cause. Now with social media the passengers are providing evidence of what caused an accident. The FAA and NTSB refuses to use this technology. Probably because they need time make sure the government is not responsible.

few people realize the only reason the FAA is at an accident is to check the 10 areas the FAA is responsible for to keep the public safe. The NTSB actually runs the investigation and determines the actual cause, whether it is the government or the operator.

Social media information can be used in court.

The government spouts "just culture". I can tell you first hand how "unjust" the government's "culture" is. It's no fun getting your hand caught in the cookie jar, but if the government has a responsibly, then they should be held responsible for their actions. Hopefully, both the "biggly one" and the "supreme one" are watching the dishonest management practices and hold them accountable in one way or another.

The public will continue to suffer because of a lack of proper oversight. Part of that oversight is education. As everyone knows, there's a "yuge" difference between currency and proficiency. No matter what is in the panel, you still have to properly take off and land the aircraft. A "glass" panel doesn't prevent the take off and landing accidents.

The nice part about this video, besides the nice views, is that there's some educational value. The "hold my beer and watch this" videos are the ones that put aviation in a bad light. I think we all can agree that the "stupid human pet tricks" in an aircraft should be investigated.

Since posting this I have been sent info on how the FAA might look at this and determine that a violation has occurred.......Hmmmmm let's see the inspector just returned from an all you could eat Chinese and starts to surf the Internet in his quite, dark small confining cubicle at an FAA FSDO. He belches and passes built up pressure from the now churning all he could eat Chinese lunch...maybe he is tired and is taking a little 15 minute nap? Any Who he finds this video of a pilot sitting next to a pretty girl flying a neat aircraft looking out the world displayed in front of him....Life is good and he has a interesting job flying around, while the said over weight gaseous FAA inspector while surfing the net comes upon this delightful video!!!!.....Hmmmm he becomes jealous and starts to hate the pilot because he is stuck in a dark cubicle looking at at endless, needless paper work that has little to do with safety .............so he spots a "POSSIBEL" violation.....hmmmm deep inside he wishes he was sitting next to that pretty girl....although he is 70 pounds overweight and probably doesn' t have the ability to fly at kite!

What a life ...he has big paying job......probabaly a GS 14/5 making 150k for thirty five hours......yet he hates this pilot and he is going to waste some more taxpayer dollars on a needless enforcement action that will make him feel like the boss!

Yes what a job.....he has! he will be retiring soon with a bunch of physical
problems as well as some phycological problems.....ones too!

Now I could see if some yo yo puts up a video buzzing his house or flying one of those drones over an airliner waiting to take off.....yes these are very obvious dangerous violations and the guilty party should be violated to the fullest extent of the regulations......yes yes !!!!

In my former FAA office, upper management was too busy looking at porno or doing another job on government time. Yes ,yes they were busy lining their pockets on the taxpayer.

That is why my friends the FAA swamp must be drained from top to bottom......!

Btw I am sure the budget will be going up again surpassing 18 BILLION>>>>BILION dollars to pay all those do nothing fat cats working on their second pensions and working another job while employed by the government .....
    :)..........;)

LOL...Rich, I doubt OPS guys could even see the possible violation. After all, Airworthiness Inspectors run the agency. But, you're right, the reasonableness of the violation should be reflected by the attitude of the crew.

With my case, the PIC was on the edge of the envelope, and crashed a perfectly good aircraft. There was no time on the beach, except my permanent disability. Every manager responsible, either got promoted or retired. Lately, they've been dogging me over professionalism, because I tell it like it is. So, I will just be patient and wait for the "biggly one's" top pick and see who leaves. If things don't change, they will put another one in the ground by 2020.

Agreed! "DRAIN THE Fox Alpha Alpha SWAMP"!!

I think the President will make short work of the FAA once he is advised of the problems.

The way he handled DACA is an example. He is smart and always three steps ahead of anyone that tries and cross him. The Washington Swamp has never gone up against the likes of President Donald J. Trump!!
