Considering a complete first rate overhaul on one of these engines is 10,000,000

    New replacement 30,000,000

Big bucks one way or another

Now all 777 are grounded by an Emergency Airworthiness. I find it strange unless evidence has come out that the engine has big problems

There has been a increase in bogus parts going into jet aircraft during major overhauls.

I talked about this and many airlines used low cost Maintnenance Repair and Overhaul MRO over seas in third world countries to save money.

THAT IS WERE THE PROBLEM LIES!!!!!

The FAA and EASA do very little surveillance on these facilities

The Chinese are the biggest violators using unapproved parts with false paper work........

    Basically they do not care!!!

I believe they are grounding only 777-200s as they are the only ones to use the 4000 series P&Ws, from what l heard.

Something is going on with this engine? One point is the fan blades are hollow inside and manufacturing is very critical. Bogus parts and unauthorized manufacturing of these blades is dangerous and they can fail

Well, one of the turbo-fan blades fractured and went threw the cowling and it ripped of the engine.

Now the fun begins to check the fan blade time in service and see where the maintnenance was done.

    Is it a bad part?

These blades weigh 34 pounds each and they are hollow and cost 10k each new. Referbing the is less costly. There is a time limitation on the blades but in some overseas shops that have little or no surveillance by government agencies could install bogus parts?
