I hate to admit it but the last time I flew on BA was on a Trident III from Amsterdam to Heathrow. That being said my penny pinching daughter who loves Allegiant flew to London last summer on BA in economy and was blown away. She told me that the cabin crew looked so professional, the food was good, they were on time and felt she was treated well by the airline all around. She told me now she understands why I call an airline a "Legacy Carrier". I guess doesn't take too much to impress a 30 year old Allegiant passenger but much harder to impress the jaded and catered business traveler. Hey what do I know, flew on buddy passes all the time with TWA and thought their big wide comfortable First Class seats on the 747 and L-1011 were just fine.

If she loves Allegiant, anything else she'll love even more. It's all relative. I remember when most Allegiant pilots confessed to not allow their own family members to fly on it.

LL, I begged her not to take herself, my grandchild and my son in law on that damn airline. I told her the horror stories. She said because they fly out of Scranton about 40 mis away from her Pocono home their convenient and cheaper than driving to EWR what they used to do. And she told me she saw a YouTube blogger that says since they phased out their older 30 year old planes (the Mad Dogs) and replaced them with new Airbuses that's not a problem any more. I told her the Airbuses they bought are not brand new, they bought them used and average age of 20 years old and that doesn't change the fact the way management thinks of their safety culture. But she doesn't listen. Disappointed one of the few times she didn't listen to me about something I consider pretty important. My younger daughter listened and will not fly them. She likes Delta the best and American if Delta isn't going where she is. Her income is about half of my older daughter and she'll cough up the extra bucks to take her and boyfriends on a "Legacy Carrier".

Sounds like the younger is much wiser than the older. I too, prefer Delta and I understand that no airline is perfect. Costco's domestic and most international travel packages use Delta and at a huge discount as part of. I, like you, may just hop on a flight to nowhere and back to me, to ride on a Delta A-220 just for sh!ts and giggles. ;)
